Tip of the Month Recipient | The Townsend Family

All tips given the month of December will be donated to the Josh Townsend family of New Breman. Josh is 33 years old, married to Natalie, and their children are Emma, Weston, Xavier and Wyatt. Josh currently is a truck driver for Precision Strip in Minster and Natalie is a stay at home mom.

When Josh was 5 years old, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Eleven years ago, that diagnosis led him to receive his first kidney transplant. However, in September 2024, Josh began to experience kidney failure for a second time. He had to spend over a week in the hospital and go through countless hours of dialysis. The doctors informed Josh that he would need a new kidney in the future. Josh eventually was able to return home to life as normal.

Over the past year, Josh's family began the search for a new kidney in hopes of finding a match. During this process, Josh began to experience regular sickness and fatigue. Josh had to take a medical leave from work over the summer and has only been able to work limited weekend hours this fall. He has endured four separate hospitalizations during this time.

In the beginning of November 2025, Josh became extremely sick. He was admitted into the hospital where he was quickly transferred to ICU and sedated so the doctors could put him on a ventilator. He has been taken off the ventilator and must do extensive physical and occupational therapy before he will be able to return home.

Once discharged, Josh will be unable to work as he continues to recover and prepares for his next kidney transplant.

He is currently waiting for a donor match through the National Kidney Donor Organization. His doctors have reported that he is a more difficult match, meaning the wait for a match will take several months. After the transplant, Josh will face another lengthy recovery to regain his strength and will be unable to return to work for at least four months. He is currently at home recovering. Josh enjoys woodworking, farming, and spending time with his family.

Let us keep the Townsend family in our daily prayers. Your generous tip will help cover their ongoing medical bills. Thank you and God Bless!
