Tip of the Month Recipient | The Alex Poeppelman Family

All tips given from March 16 through the end of April will be donated to the Alex Poeppelman family of Fort Loramie. Fourteen year old Alex is son to Jeff and Shiela and younger brother to Lance. On November 5, 2021 Alex was accidentally shot with a gun, which caused injuries to his inner left arm and abdomen. He was care flighted from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton in critical condition. His doctors thought the injuries were unsurvivable but by the grace of God, he survived the night. As of the end of February, Alex has gone through 22 surgeries for his abdomen area. Through the surgeries he has lost many organs in order to heal. He has only been home for 5 days since the accident, and has been in Miami Valley Hospital for the other 100+ days all of which he has been on an IV nutrition. The Poeppelman family are looking forward to the final surgery which would connect his intestines to allow Alex to eat on his own again and get off of the IV nutrition. Shiela works at Continental Express Inc. and was able to take family leave for his first 12 weeks, and she is currently working every other day and the days she is not at work, you will find her down in Dayton spending time with Alex. The days Shiela is not with Alex, her mother Joani is with him so he has always had family at his side. Jeff works at Slagle Mechanical in Sidney. Alex is an outdoorsman who loves to spend his time outside such as hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and also enjoyed playing football for Fort. Loramie last year. Let us keep the Poeppelman family in our daily prayers. Your generous tip will help cover their medical bills. Thank you and God bless!
