Tip of the Month Recipient | The Kim Cummins Family

All tips given the month of October will be donated to the Kim Cummins family of Botkins. Kim is married and they have four children that attend Anna Schools. In June 2021, she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. After having headaches for months, they progressed to severe migraines which she took prescribed medicine for. When the prescribed medicine didn’t relieve the pain a cat scan was preformed. The results did not come back favorable as lesions were found in her brain. An MRI scan was done where they found innumerable (they stopped counting after 21) tumors on her brain. Various tests had to be conducted to find out what type of brain cancer she had so appropriate treatment could be done. Ten rounds of full brain radiation started the treatment process, followed by several weeks to allow the radiation to finish its process before Kim began her chemo. She has been taking chemotherapy in pill form at home for the last eight weeks. Kim has worked at Wilma Valentine Child Care which is associated with the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities for 22 years. Kim enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and reading. Her cancer is considered incurable. Many of Kim’s medical bills are not covered by her insurance. Kim knows that Jesus is the divine healer and that no miracle is too big for God. Kim has a positive spirit and exclaims this experience to be one of God’s grace. Let us keep the Cummins family in our daily prayers! Your generous tip will help cover their medical bills. Thank you and God bless!
